The Coalition addresses its mission and goals through a number of initiatives, including school-based and community health and prevention education, adult and youth tobacco cessation programs, vendor compliance checks, Smokeless Saturday court diversion program, local and state policy efforts, and alternative tobacco-free activities for youth.

Break the Chain:  This program is offered primarily for students who are found in possession of tobacco products, sometimes mandated by the juvenile court system, although any parent or school administrator can refer youth to the program. Break the Chain includes an assessment of the participant’s tobacco use, helps to identify trigger situations, and reaffirms the health consequences of using tobacco.  Participants learn strategies to recover from nicotine addiction by learning tools to manage withdrawal symptoms and skills to manage stress.  There is a $40.00 fee with this program.

SASY Program (Self-Assessment Saturdays for Youth) is an eight-hour outpatient course at the Phoenix House Keene Center. The course serves youth ages 13 to 21 who have violated school and legal drinking regulations or have been experimenting with alcohol and other drugs.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is an alcohol and other drug outpatient treatment program that meets three times a week for group sessions. Individual and family sessions are scheduled separately. Participants live at home and can continue with work or school while participating in treatment.

Check Yourself is a unique resource where older teens can think in a focused way about their relationship with drugs and alcohol, and invites them to consider whether their substance abuse is turning into a problem for them.

This site allows visitors to answer quiz questions about their lifestyle, read first-person stories, communicate with other teens and play decision games to see how they might act in situations involving drugs and alcohol. Most importantly, visitors will be able to get factual answers to questions about substance abuse, learn how to talk about their concerns with people who can help them, and get information about counseling and treatment.

The Partnership at Drugfree.org is here for parents, helping them prevent, intervene in or find treatment for drug and alcohol use by their children.

The Keene Family YMCA is proud to offer the “6th Grade Initiative,” a program that offers a free YMCA membership to students in the 6th grade.

The goal of the 6th Grade Initiative is to inspire youth to discover their passions, develop a healthy lifestyle, and gain the assets needed to avoid risky behaviors and succeed in school and life.

Medical services and supplies are available on a sliding fee scale based on ability to pay. Insurances are accepted. Payment plans are available.

CAST is a five-year project that seeks to improve child health in the Bethel School District. The project includes seven elementary schools with an enrollment of nearly 3,000 students. CAST is a unique community-based participatory program in that it brings together schools, local organizations, and families to assess and respond to children’s health and nutrition needs at both a school and community level. MADACs mission is to influence public awareness, policy and funding to support alcohol, tobacco and other drug prevention, intervention, treatment and recovery in Cheshire County. Meets the second Monday of every month, 4 to 5:15 PM at the Keene Public Library.

WGYB is a network of parents trying to create an environment of support to reduce underage drinking and its effect on the community. Meets on the second Monday of every month, 4:00pm – 5:30pm at ELMM Community Center, Winchester, NH

The Antioch Psychological Services Center (PSC) is a counseling center serving Antioch students and the community. They provide individual, couples, and family counseling to people of all ages, as well as psychological testing and assessment. The PSC is operated by Antioch University New England's Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology which is accredited by the American Psychological Association.
